about Mari van der Walt
Read more about my friend Mari
Read more about those engaging attributes of Mari, that she herself is
too modest to talk about, or to highlight.

Linda, Mari's friend, writes as follows:
As you know Mari is not the sort of person that trumpets her own horn
and therefore it is good that her friends do it for her.
Mari loved to draw and paint since she was a very young child. Her
parents did much to encourage her painting and placed her finished works
in a prominent
place in the living room, or on a shelf for visitors to see. They helped
her make frames and the art book was frequently shown to visitors, as
well as a topic of
conversation.
Mari loves animals, her pets,
beautiful music, antique furniture and
porcelain dolls. She also
enjoys the pure things nature has to offer, such
as
beautiful landscapes, flowers and birds.
She likes soft smelling perfumes like roses and lavender. She some
time paints
potpourri bags for use in drawers and on shelves. Scented
candles with interesting aromas are some of her favourite gifts. She also
likes the smell of orange blossoms.
I do not experience Mari as the so-called or "typical artist prima donna
type" who displays a haughty spirit,
or who finds something wrong with the
smallest of things and with any and everybody. That kind of naughty
child mentality is not part of her artistry or personality. As a matter of fact, I find
her a calm and wise person that looks the world straight in the eyes.
She is a Christen believer who strives to live her life
to the glory of the Lord.
I believe Mari will make a success of her task as painter and artist.
She is both already, but I think lack of time to create and market her
paintings, has sometimes been a significant factor in the past. I
believe her work has
international quality and that the public and
visitors to her website should see and enjoy her work. When one becomes
aware of the fact that she is a Christian, her works get even more value for
fellow Christian believers.
Mari loves the Lord, His Word (the Bible), her family and delightful things
like nature, animals, beautiful pictures and photos, other artist's
creations, good company and soft music. For her, the fellowship
with her family and friends is very important and she is open to learn
the lessons that life has to offer.
Her paintings and her approach to her art is genuine, natural and
unembellished. She cultivates her art with joy and it is
clearly seen in her outstanding paintings. What a privilege to call such
a person your friend.
Greetings,
Linda
